More Christmas Cards!

Besides the Dasher case that I've done below, this is one of my very favorite Christmas cards I've created so far. I've used the Serene Snowflakes stamp set, Not Quite Navy, Brushed Silver CS, Specialty Bride Paper brushed with Not Quite Navy Ink, Encore Silver Ink, Silver Embossing powder, and Silver Elastic Cord from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

My poor card got bent somewhere between the Stamp-A-Stack and taking the picture. YOu can barely tell except for the bow at the top and bottom of the card, so forgive me for that! I actually saw Andrea Walford (http://andreawalford.com/), she made a beautiful version of this card with Frost White shimmer paint! Look for her Shimmer Paint tutorial on her website! This particular card was made with Kraft CS, Merry Moments DSP, Chocolate Chip CS, Old Olive Ink, Real Red Poka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, ooh and I forgot the Very Vanilla CS.

For an incredibly easy holiday card using the Scenic Season stamp set, Brocade Blue CS, Chocolate Chip Ink and CS, Shimmer White CS, and SU brads.

NEWS!!! I think!

Okay, today I hear there is going to be news from Stampin' Up! that will make each of you salivate with excitement. (from what I hear anyways!) I can't wait to share with you what it is, and I will do so as soon as I can... Isn't this a horrible teaser!?!

Christmas Cards!

It is that time of year again... Believe it or not!
I cased this card from Demonstrator Michelle Surette, http://istampedthat.com/.
She has some great cards to look at, I got a couple of great ideas from her! I changed mine just a bit, but it's still really similar! I used Whisper White Cardstock, Chocolate Chip Ink, CS, and taffeta ribbon, and the Bride Specialty paper! I just love it!

Back, but still Behind...

I apologize that it's taking me forever to get new cards up. I have made some I promise! I just got back from vacation and ended up sick, so between that, playing catch-up at work, and getting ready for the Christmas program at our church I've been swamped! Today I thought I'd post some of the new deals of the week. I guess this is week three that they are offering this, I had no idea until today that there were specials going on!

New Cards I've Been Working On!

I'm disappointed with this picture. Not the card, just the picture. I used Orchid Opulence CS and ink, Old Olive CS and grosgrain ribbon, and Shimmer White CS, and Cottage Wall DSP. I love this card also, however there are two little dimensional cling-ons sitting right under the ribbon. I just didn't notice it until I started to upload it. But I don't think it ruins the card so I'll leave it there! :) Enjoy the new cards!

Another card using the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set. I LOVE this set! I can't get over how stunning it ends up being. This card uses Kraft CS, Night of Navy CS and ink, brads, and Bella Bleu DSP.

However, I LOVE this card! Also made with Teddy & Train stamp set! Made with slightly retired Pink Pirouette CS and ink, and Close to Cocoa CS and ink. Watercolor paper and Aqua painters were also used.

Not my favorite colors for this set, but they were the most "boyish" colors I had, guess I need some more pastel blues, yellows and greens! These were ALL Bold Brights and I think it could be better. This card was made with Teddy & Train stamp set (adorable!), using Brilliant Blue CS, Yoyo Yellow CS, Green Galor CS, Craft White ink, Winter White embossing powder, Pastels and a blender pen. I think I remembered it all!

This card is using the Bitty Birthday set, and actually this card is way cute now that it's all put together, I'm really liking it! Anyways... Bitty Birthday set, Certainly Celery CS, marker and ink, Lovely Lilac CS, marker and ink, Basic Black ink, 2 Way Glue, and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. And slightly retired Celery Grosgrain.

Similar card, just a slightly different take... Now I need to get the stamp set that makes this a rockin' card. I LOVE my spritzer, I had never even used the thing until a couple of weeks ago! So, this is the extreme guitar set, embossed. I used Tempting Turquoise stampin' marker and CS, Basic Black CS and Craft Ink, and Whisper White paper with the spritzer.

The lighting in this shot is not the best, sorry about that! This is using the Ever After set, Rich Razzleberry CS and marker, Not Quite Navy CS and ink, Sizzix texture plate, Shimmering White CS, White Grosgrain ribbon. Simple card with great results!

Busy Worker Bee...

I need to add something to this card, maybe some brads or eyelets. Something to make it pop just a little more. I like the effect of the spritzer tool, and I really like the stamp itself. It's just lacking a little punch for me. I'll try to get more cards posted this week. I'm getting ready for another card making party, so I'll post cards from the last one. I'm trying to make the card making parties a fun surprise!

Cards I've Been Working On

Just playing around with the Medallion Stamp. Oh I cannot wait to see what this stamp can do! I used Old Olive CS and ink, and Whisper White CS. I know it is very simple, but add a saying to it and I think it would look great. Or even add a peice of white grosgrain ribbon and voila!

Card I've been dinkin' around with using Lots of Bots stamp set, Real Red CS and ink,
Brilliant Blue CS, Whisper White CS, and Basic Black.
I also useds an aqua painter and Going Gray for the ink.

I tried to get close enough for you to see the detail in the nuts and bolts.

A Few More Cards...

I got to sit and play for a few more minutes tonight. Cut out some peices for the ladies to put together... It was a very productive night. And no headache, so that helped a little!
By far my favorite!!! Love the colors!!! (jumping up and down squealing and clapping)

Another update to a previous card. I actually think that I like this one better!

This card is actually one I really love. This is Nature's Silhouette stamp set, Kraft Cardstock, and Chocolate Chip ribbon.

This card is using the new Forest Friends, Warm Words, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, and Pink Pirouette cardstock and ink.

This is an update to an earlier post.
I like it better with the Night of Navy behind the tree.
A manly card...

A Few More Cards!

I love this Inspired by Nature set, it's still one of my favorites. I can make a beautiful card and it doesn't have to be an insane amount of work, and it still looks nice! This is with Baja Breeze CS and ink and Whisper White CS and ribbon. I stamped the saying a little crooked, but I think it would still work!
I decided to make my pictures just a tad bigger. I couldn't even see the details anymore. That's pretty bad, even with my glasses! This is using Urban Garden DSP, the Top Note die, Baja Breeze CS, Night of Navy CS, Whisper White CS, and Night of Navy ink.

A closer view...

These may be a little small... I am going to miss the Doodle This set so much. It was so simple and cute... I guess it's my style, a little bit of a spaz...

Friday, June 19, 2009

Another fun card...

I've been playing with the Big Shot, and let me tell you, I have plans in the very near future to make one of these mine... I really like this card, not only because it's simple and pretty, but it was SO easy to do. Especially with the Big Shot. I used Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip. I'll have to look up the name of the embossing peice for the Big Shot, but the other die was the Top Note die.

Simple Cards to Share

Tonight I was getting ready for a 10 for $10 and I thought I'd share some of the cards. They may not be the final draft that everyone else gets to see, but you get to see these! I got the upcoming catalog a couple of days ago and I am happy to announce that I absolutely LOVE it! There are several sets in it that I may not be able to live without, and some new beautiful papers! And I'm a huge fan of the new In-Colors. Well, enjoy the pics, and feel free to share your opinions.
My favorite card so far, I may add another embellisment or another layer, but I just love it! I used Very Vanilla cardstock, Bella Bleu DSP and Kraft cardstock with Not Quite Navy. Maybe I'll add that layer of NQN cardstock below the tree... Hmm... Just thinking while I type!!!
I like this version slightly better. I am trying to keep these cards simple, I'm getting ready for my 10 for $10, and some gals have had experience making cards and some have not, so simple is always good. I love this set, but I need to figure out another color to incorporate. I just haven't put my finger on it yet!
I'm not sure if I like this version of my Ocean Commotion card. I'll upload the one that I like better and you can tell me what you think. It's a lot of Tempting Turquoise on one card.
I love this set, Fifth Avenue Florals, and I tried to make a slightly different color choice than I normally do, but apparently they kind of muddle together. I used Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss, and Perfect Plum on Ivory. I'm usually a Whisper White kind of a gal, but I'm trying to branch out...

Frustration...

I got the Ocean Commotion set a couple of weeks ago, I totally fell in love with it in the catalog and now that it is in my hands I cannot for the life of me make it look fabulous! Below I have a couple of cards that I am trying to case, mine will be in Tempting Turquoise, like the first card. (Thanks to Aimee M. for making awesome cards!) I am just not getting a result that I am "in love with." I'm actually not even getting a result that I'm in like with!!! I'm panicking. I have a 10 for $10 on the 27th and I really wanted to use this set, but we'll see if it happens!

Finally Back!!!

Okay, I'm posting pictures of cards again. I finally am getting around to posting the pictures of my sisters graduation. I'm starting out slow, but I'll try to get more up sooner than later. I used Basic Black and Pink Pirouette for them and just embossed the images with clear embossing powder. I finished 25 invitations in just under 3 hours. I didn't think that was too bad!

Graduation Invitation

These are the graduation invitations that I made for my sister. For some reason no matter how I took the pictures they came out blurry every time. I had a great time with these invites, and they were fairly easy.

One More Picture

One of the girls was gracious enough to let me use her as an example at the end of Sundays lesson. We're having such a great time!

However, I'm itching to get back to stampin' I'll have to post my sister's graduation invitations that I made for her. Gotta say I was pretty proud of myself!

I Remembered To Take Pictures!

( For the sake of the kids privacy I'd like to keep their faces out of the pictures) I wanted to show off some of the VBS pictures that I have. This has been such a fun adventure, the kids and adults alike have had so much fun. It's more than halfway over so everyone (okay, mostly me) is kinda bummed!

Need to Remember to Take Pictures!

Our first official run through of VBS is tomorrow night. I'm trying very hard to remember to take pictures so that when it comes time I can scrapbook the VBS memories, and maybe make a slide show of it for the church. I've got some pictures from training. I was up way too early this day.

And hopefully I'll have more tomorrow of the finished decorations. I still have quite the list to accomplish before Sunday. Oye, it's a good thing I have no committments on Saturday!

More VBS Stuff!

It's almost done, but here's the backdrop for VBS!
Hopefully the kids will just love it, I know I'm having a blast with it!

6 Days Left...

Till Crocodile Dock Vacation Bible School starts.

Man am I excited/nervous! I'm not sure how much more I could do to get prepared, but I am SO nervous!!!

What I'm Working On Now...

Our church's VBS is coming up in May and I get to coordinate the whole thing. Wow, it is amazingly time consuming, even with a church FULL of workers. I have delegated every possible little thing, and still I am just about to be running on empty. From making decorating decisions to making sure I have enough people to help with Crafts, Games, and Snacks... I've gotta say though, I am incredibly excited about it though. I think it is going to be amazing.
I get to do skits too! This is totally my cup of tea. However, it totally takes away my crafting time. I really will get some crafts up soon though! I'll try to take some VBS pictures and post them soon!

Just thought I'd share!

Since VBS has been my life for the last couple of months, I took a little time to dink around on the internet for some card inspiration. I found a blog by another SU! demonstrator, Nancy Riley. If you have a few minutes to look I highly suggest taking a good look. She has some great ideas, and I can't wait to have some time to try some of her ideas.

Here's the link to her blog!

Discovering Twitter...

I have officially discovered Twitter.com. However, as much fun as I'm having with it, it is yet another thing that will keep me away from stamping, and trying to make extra money with stampin.

It is fun, just frustrated with my lack of discipline when it comes to planning/using my time.

I'm so BAD at being disciplined!!!

Well ladies, I’m sorry I haven’t gotten my tutorials up. I have the two cards that I want to make into a tutorial picked out and the sample is made. I’ve just got a lot going on.

I’m coordinating the Vacation Bible School program for my church, and its taking up an incredible amount of time. However, I’ve also been playing a little bit on the side too. I went to a Kutless concert last month, and a few days ago I went to the Rock and Worship Roadshow, (Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, Hawk Nelson, Tenth Avenue North, and Addison Road), and let me tell you it was amazing. I will definitely go if they have it in Portland. So between training for VBS, the worship team at church, trying to take care of my own home, work, and play I’ve been really bad at actually doing my card stuff. Anyways... All that to say that I’m such a bum!

I’m looking forward to being able to sit and play with my card making stuff. I have the Thoughts and Prayers set from the new catalog and it is such an easy set to make a fantastic looking card. Very little thought or effort went into the cards I made and they really looked great.

I’ll try to get back on the ball and post more pictures of what I’ve been doing in my craft room! (I even cleaned it up so that I can find what I need now!)

When I Go Home Today

This is what I'm going to play with when I get home! :) YAY!!!

Not really Stamping...

Last week I was in Palm Springs for a conference (work related), and I had never been to Palm Springs. It may not be other people's first choice for a work related conference; I swear it really was, and I went to almost all of my classes. Let me tell you, after months of being in gray skies and rain it was a breath of fresh air to actually have sun and warmth.

I never really understood dry heat until I was down there either, but now I know what it is and I LOVE it! I'm going to post a couple of pictures, but I have to apologize first, as I was taking pictures I had no idea that there were crooked. Now as I'm looking at them on my computer they are REALLY crooked! I'll only include a couple pictures today, since I only got a few while I was down there. Next time I go I'll take more pictures!
